Canon imagePROGRAF iPF Error Code 03130031-2F27
Canon imagePROGRAF iPF Hardware Error 03130031-2F27
Hardware error 03130031-2F27 will display on the small LCD display along with a message that says "Power On Again Carriage Timeout Restart Printer".
BEFORE RESTARTING the printer, lift the top cover, and make sure the carriage is nowhere other than its proper place, the right side of the printer.
What The Code Means
Error 2F27 means the target position could not be reached within a predicted operation time +3 seconds during carriage operation.
Additionally, if the carriage travels heavily towards the stop position, a mechanical load error may be suspected.
Possible Causes
Most notable causes of this error have occurred after the replacement of a carriage unit, purge unit, or linear scale replacement.
If the carriage assembly has been recently replaced, the stabilizing bracket must be properly put back onto the purge unit. This bracket helps suppress vibrations through the carriage unit.
If the linear encoder has recently been replaced, ensure the protective film has been removed. Failure to remove the film will prevent the Encoder Sensor from reading correctly. The following error codes are known to be associated with protective film covering: 2F26, 2F30, 2F1F, and 2F37.
How To Fix It
A linear scale replacement has been known to solve this error. All repairs should be made by a factory authorized service technician when available.
We discourage anyone from making any repairs without proper training and knowledge. Ignoring our recommendation could result in severe injury or death. However, if your model is no longer supported, the following information may be helpful.
Old Printers vs. New Computers
Depending on its age, your printer may simply not be worth repairing. Oder models may not have compatible drivers for new computers and operating systems. For information on Canon's current line of new large format printers, please click the link to the right.
