Canon imagePROGRAF iPF Error Code 03130031-2F4A
Canon imagePROGRAF iPF Hardware Error 03130031-2F4A
What The Code Means
Bad news, that's what it means. The 2F4A error is a main controller PCB error. In other words, this is the brain of your printer.
If the 2F4A is not your error, but the 03130031 is still part of the code on your screen, reference our blog post on all the 03130031 errors.
Can I Fix The Error
If you are one of the fortunate ones, a simple reboot (or power cycle, for nerds like me) will fix the problem. Don't just turn it off and then right back on... wait a few moments, then turn the power back on.
If the error is cleared, do a happy dance! If the error comes back, it's time to make some decisions.
Option 1
Replace the main controller PCB
It's really not as difficult as you may think. The hardest part is coming to terms with the price tag for a new main controller.
For step-by-step instructions on how to replace the main controller PCB, please see our video here on this page.
Option 2
Before considering a repair, be mindful of the age of your printer. Legacy (old) printers may not have parts available and you'd be wise to take advice from Elsa the ice queen "let it go".
Some printers may not be compatible with new computers and operating systems, meaning your large format printer could be a laundry rack that looks like a bbq.
